WHERE IS HOMEWOOD ?
Homewood is 25 miles from London, halfway between
London and Cambridge. Hatfield House is close by and Knebworth house
is only 10 minutes walk away. Homewood is also near Burghley, Woburn
Abbey, Luton Hoo and many other places of interest. Stansted and

Places of interest to visit.
KNEBWORTH HOUSE
the home of the Lytton-Cobbolds and the location
for many films and television plays, is 500 metres away. It is open
from Easter until the end of September. It has a model railway to
ride on around the estate and Fort Knebworth and a huge slide for
the children to play on. The House is open to the public.

HATFIELD HOUSE
is 20 minutes south on the A1M. The home of the
Cecil family since it was completed in 1609. It is a beautiful example
of Jacobean architecture and is full of wonderful tapestries, furniture,
paintings, and momentoes of a family which has taken an active role
in this country’s history. The Gardens are magnificent and
all 42 acres are open to visitors on Fridays. For the faint hearted
the West Gardens can be seen when the House is open from Easter
until the end of September.
The Dowager Lady Salisbury is an expert organic gardener, and her
designs have been used in the Museum of Garden History at Lambeth,
and at Highgrove. |

ST ALBANS CATHEDRAL
is 30 minutes away and together with the Roman
City of Verulamium is well worth a visit. |
| WHIPSNADE ZOO and PARADISE
WILDLIFE PARK are also easy drives away. WOBURN ABBEY AND SAFARI PARK
are a little further as is WADDESDON MANOR, THE IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM
AT Duxford, and THE SHUTTLEWORTH COLLECTION at Old Warden all easily
accessible via the A1M. |

away by train to KINGS CROSS. The Station is less than 1 mile away
and trains go twice an hour. |
